My garden is located half-way between Cincinnati and Dayton in Liberty Township, Ohio. This is on the northern edge of USDA Zone 6. Situated on 0.6 acres, the garden has three main growing areas.
  • There is a large pond for growing aquatic and emergent plants.
  • Most of the property is in full sun with average well drained soil ideal for growing prairie plants.
  • A small section is located in dry shady areas ideal for growing certain woodland wild flowers.
In addition to wildflowers I also grow native trees and shrubs. One of my favorites is Ninebark, which looks spectacular in full bloom in the springtime.

Native plants are a magnet for wildlife. I'm especially fond of those plants that attract butterflies and songbirds.
